Cody Ware had not competed in any NASCAR events this season leaving fans to wonder about his status for the 2020 season.
On Thursday Ware announced via Twitter that he would be leaving Rick Ware Racing, which is owned by his father, to pursue additional road racing opportunities.
I have been asked what my plans for the 2020 season are, and a Reddit post where an employee of RWR has been ignoring questions about my plans has sparked some questions. I wish RWR the best but I will not be racing with them moving forward in my career.

Ware has 22 Cup Series, 20 Xfinity Series and seven Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series starts in his racing career.
Road racing is where my heart is and that is where I’ll be finalizing some opportunities this year and next.
