Austin Dillon will be behind the wheel of the No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro on Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway after wife Whitney gave birth to son Ace.
Dillon shared a photo of Whitney and Ace in a hospital bed writing, “Wow, @whitneydillon you amaze me everyday! This by far is your biggest feat yet. My love for you and @acedillon3 is Agape Love. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do was say goodbye to go race today. Hopefully we bring back a trophy for Ace on the first day we welcomed him into this world!”
There had been questions as to whether or not Dillon would miss a race with the upcoming birth but Sunday’s post clarifies that he will indeed be racing in the Dixie Vodka 400.
Dillon has been on a bit of a hot stretch since NASCAR’s return. He has finished 14th, eighth, sixth and 11th prior to having to be removed from his car last weekend at Martinsville following heat exhaustion. He finished 37th.
