Ryan Newman and the No. 6 team have been making steady progress on the track.
Since an 11th place finish at Texas, Newman has since scored a ninth place run at Bristol, a ninth place run at Richmond and a seventh place run at Talladega. When Newman left Texas he was 19th in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series point standings. Newman has since climbed up to 13th in the standings.
“Dover has always been a favorite of mine, but one that requires toughness inside the car,” says Newman about the 1-mile concrete track. “It’s so unique in the way you have to manage the corners and getting the setup right is key for a solid day. We’ve been able to continue our upward trend so we’re looking forward to having some more fun this weekend.”
