Austin Dillon on pole for Geico 500, Cup qualifying results Talladega

Austin Dillon is on the pole for Sunday’s running of the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The pole comes a day after NASCAR took the deck lid of the No. 3 car.

The first race without a restrictor plate in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is set to take place at the 2.66 mile track.

Sunday’s race will consist of 188 laps with FOX and MRN carrying coverage beginning at 2:00 pm ET. The first stage will end on lap 55 while the second ends on lap 110.

Joey Logano won this event a year ago while Aric Almirola won the fall event.
