On the pole for the season opening ARCA Racing Series event at Daytona International Speedway is Christian Eckes. The driver of the No. 15 JBL Audio Toyota turned in the fastest lap in Friday’s group qualifying session.
A year ago it was Michael Self who went to victory lane in this event. Self ran a partial schedule last season but will compete full time this year in the No. 25 Toyota.
The season opening Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire will take place on Saturday at 4:45 pm ET. The race is scheduled for 80 laps or 200 miles. FOX Sports 1 will have coverage of the race. Fans wanting to watch ARCA after Daytona will have to wait a month until the series second event at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.
