Jeff Gordon will leave the short track of Bristol Motor Speedway as the points leader of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
The race began with Jeff Gordon holding a three point lead over teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. Following 500 laps of racing at the World’s Fastest Half Mile the points lead now is 27 for Gordon who has a spot locked up.

There are 12 drivers guaranteed a Chase spot via wins. The Sprint Cup Series is in action next Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
