Rain cancelled qualifying for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing at Talladega Superspeedway. Qualifying was set to begin at 12:00 pm ET but never got underway due to rain.
Starting on the pole for Sunday’s race at the 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway will be Aric Almirola via practice speeds.
The Camping World RV Sales 500 is the sixth race of the NASCAR Chase. Currently Matt Kenseth leads Jimmie Johnson by four points in the point standings with Kevin Harvick 29 points back. Kenseth will start 11th, Johnson 12th and Harvick 34th (or 33rd if No. 12 of Hornish can not race) for Sunday’s race.
Coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega will air on ESPN beginning at 2:00 pm ET with the green flag set to wave at 2:20 pm ET. The Sprint Cup Series will run 188 laps to make up 500.08 miles at Talladega.
