Video: Jimmie Johnson crashes in turn four at Phoenix

Jimmie Johnson chances at a sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup title may be over. After winning back-to-back races at Martinsville and Texas he had jumped out to a seven point lead. On lap 235 at Phoenix Johnson tagged the wall in turn four severely damaging his car.

Johnson was forced to the garage while championship rival Brad Keselowski contended for a win.

Crew members from the No. 88 car of Dale Earnhardt Jr. lent hands to help fix Johnson’s car.

The cause of the accident according to Goodyear was a melted bead on the tire from excessive brake heat.
