Dale Earnhardt Jr is OK after Crash during Tire Test at Kansas Speedway

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is ok after crashing during a Goodyear tire test at Kansas Speedway. Earnhardt crashed his No. 88 Chevrolet during the second day of testing at the 1.5-mile super speedway. Earnhardt crashed following a flat right front tire. He had run twenty laps on the tires which were identical to those used at Michigan International Speedway two weeks ago.

Earnhardt was seen by medical staff and released while the team packed up the hauler to leave the track.

Tire testing was being conducted at Kansas since the track has been reconfigured since the spring race there. The track will have variable banking in its turns from 17 to 20 degrees, when NASCAR returns, after having 15-degree banking since its 2001 opening.

A total of nine drivers were at the tire test including Earnhardt. Also participating at the test were Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, Regan Smith, Marcos Ambrose, Juan Pablo Montoya, Joey Logano, Paul Menard and Mark Martin.
