The Minnesota Twins made headlines and confused everyone when they signed switch hitting designated hitter Kendrys Morales following the MLB Draft.
Signing Morles left a lot of people wondering what the Twins were thinking.
The Twins are currently last in the AL Central making Morales a potential trade chip but Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe suggests that the team is interested in him beyond this season.
“… don’t be surprised to see them try to re-up him. According to a major league source, the Twins like his switch-hitting bat and his influence on the younger Twins. In a short time, Morales has made an impact in the clubhouse.”
The Twins can either work out an extension in season or at the end of the year, or try to trade him at the deadline and sign him in free agency.
Though 12 games Morales is hitting .213/.275/.277 with five RBI.
