Matt Shoemaker continued to perform well in his rookie season posting his fifth win of the season.
Little was expected of Shoemaker, 27, when he was called up to the big leagues but instead he is now 5-1 with a 3.42 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 51/11 K/BB ratio over his first 50 innings of work.
In Sunday’s game against the Texas Rangers, Shoemaker allowed just one run on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings of work.
Shoemaker will face that Kansas City Royals in his next start.
