Mark Melancon will re-assume the closers role with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Melancon has previously filled in for Jason Grilli over the past two seasons. He will again be doing so this year as Grilli gets a temporary break.
In 35 games this season Grilli has a 1.89 ERA and a 0.78 WHIP and already has 10 saves.
Grilli temporarily out as #pirates closer. Melancon takes over.

Grilli has simply not been the pitcher that was selected to the All-Star Game a season ago. A recent bad patch has Grilli sporting a 4.34 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP in 20 games.
The decision is not considered permanent according to Pirates manager Clint Hurdle.
