Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd will have a third opinion on his elbow on Monday. According to Bob Nightengale, Floyd “tentatively plans to have “Tommy John,” surgery on torn elbow ligament” which would end the right handers season.
The injury occurred in Floyd’s last start on Saturday as he was removed in the third inning and subsequently placed on the disabled list.
Floyd is 0-4 with a 5.18 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP in five starts this season.
