Verstappen wins Miami Grand Prix, Full Results

Max Verstappen would claim the Miami Grand Prix for the second year in a row, pulling away from his Red Bull Racing teammate, Sergio Perez, in the final laps of the race.

Perez began the day on the pole while Verstappen began the race in ninth. It would take Verstappen just 10 laps to work his way up from his ninth starting spot to fourth. Five laps later Verstappen was up to second.

Carlos Sainz would get a five second penalty for speeding during his pit stop. With Perez pitting to go from the medium to hard tires, Verstappen would take the lead. The two would flip back after Verstappen pitted for tires on lap 46. Verstappen came out 1.6 seconds behind after being the last car to pit.

Perez’s time back at the front of the field was short lived as Verstappen aided by DRS would pass him on lap 48.

With the win, Verstappen now has 38 wins with Red Bull tying him with Sebastian Vettel as the most all-time for the team.
