Eric McClure revealed on Sunday that he was suffering from a multitude of health issues in a Facebook post.

The 40-year-old McClure, who last raced the 2016 Xfinity Series opener at Daytona, is staying indefinitely in a hospital where he is being treated for a lung infection and compartment syndrone. The former driver said that he was also experiencing kidney failure.

“I still have the lung infection. It isn’t fully healing, But after ruling it out as a cause of the other, treatment has resumed,” wrote McClure.

McClure added, “I also have Rhabdomyolysis. My muscles were dying and even heart muscle was at risk. It gave us a scare, so it was treated before & after being brought here. As a result is the Rhabdo, I had compartment syndrome in both arms and legs, and I had To have emergency surgery twice to open the muscles in each limb. Both were deemed successful, but the first one may have happened too late for full recovery. It’s a waiting game now. All of this led me to full kidney failure in both kidneys. I am on dialysis for the foreseeable future. It makes me sick/nauseous.”

With multiple illnesses, McClure is expecting to be in the hospital for a while.
