Michael Vick will start the preseason opener for the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. The Eagles have not publicly announced anything in regards to who they view as the favorite to start the season as their quarterback.
Vick, Nick Foles and 2013 Draft pick Matt Barkley are locked in a competition for the quarterback job. By most accounts Barkley is no higher then third on the depth chart.

That Vick is starting Friday nights game hardly gives him any advantage in ultimately claiming the job. Vick’s style would appear to fit better with new coach Chip Kelly’s game plan but the coach has also credited the toughness of Foles.
