Phoenix Racing will finish 2012 NASCAR season even without Kurt Busch

Phoenix Racing said that they will be finishing out the 2012 NASCAR schedule, they just don’t know who their driver will be yet.

Nick Harrison said the team was committed to running the remainder of this season’s Sprint Cup schedule. “We’re business as usual, moving forward,” Harrison said.”We still have Dover and Talladega with Kurt and really think we can end with a win. We’re running the full season. It’s just a (matter of ) who is going to drive.”

Harrison said the team has spoken with Regan Smith, the driver of the  No.78 Chevrolet Busch will be replacing this season. Finch has also shown interest in A.J Allmendinger, previous driver of the No.22 for Penske Racing. Allmendinger was let go earlier this season for failing a random drug test, but after going through NASCAR’s “Road to Recovery” program has been reinstated by NASCAR.

David Reutimann could also be an option since he is who filled in at Pocono when Busch was suspended for a week this season.

Landon Cassill drove for Phoenix Racing last season but has not been considered for the open ride this season.
