After setting an Olympic record with their short dance the United States duo of Meryl Davis and Charlie White set their sights on the gold medal in Ice Dance. They then set a record with 116.63 in their free dance.
Davis, 27, and White, 26, have been skating together since the age of six but are not dating.
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir of Canada initally set a World Record with their Free Dance only to see White and Davis top it when they hit the ice. Virtue and Moir had to settle with the silver while Elena Ilinykh and Nitkita Katsalapov of Russia claimed the bronze.
