US Skater Shani Davis saw his bid for a three-peat in the Men’s 1000 m Speed Skating event go by the wayside.
Davis finished eighth as Stefan Groothuis of the Netherlands claimed the gold finishing 0.04 seconds ahead of Canada’s Denny Morrison. Michel Mulder of the Netherlands claimed the bronze.
