Todd Lodwick will carry the United States Flag at the Opening Ceremony at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Lodwick, is an American nordic combined skier and will become the first American to compete in a sixth Olympic games.

Lodwick, a native of Steamboat Springs, Colorado first entered the Olympic games in 1994 at Lillehammer. Since then, he has competed in every Olympic games to date.
Lodwick won 19 US-championships in nordic skiing: 11 in Nordic combined and 8 in ski jumping. Yet still, Lodwick had not won a medal at a major event and decided to retire after the 2006 Turin games. He came back two years later citing his desire to win a medal. In 2009, he became world champion in nordic combined.
Lodwick comes into Sochi ranked No. 52 in the world and isn’t expected to medal.
