Red Wings unsure when Pavel Datsyuk could return

paveldatsyukPavel Datsyuk has missed the last 13 games for the Detroit Red Wings. He last played for the team in it’s Winter Classic game on Jan. 1.

Datsyuk has been sidelined with a lower body injury and is not certain to playing the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi even as he is the team captain of Russia.

“I have no idea,” coach Mike Babcock said when asked about Datsyuk, via Detroit News. “I just watch him in practice, one leg isn’t holding up. Pavel wants to play for his country and be part of things, but you have to be healthy.”

The question remains as to when or if he could play in the Olympics.

“I’m not a doctor,” Babcock said. “I don’t have a clue.”
