In what is the worst kept secret across the NFL, new Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden named Robert Griffin III his starting quarterback for the 2014 season.
“Robert Griffin III is the starter,” Gruden said, via Chad Dukes of 106.7 The Fan. “There will be no competition.”
That is hardly news considering the recent comments of backup quarterback Kirk Cousins. Of course Cousins proved at the end of the 2013 season that he was not a starting option at this point.
