Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton has been ruled out for Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Panthers.
While the news on Stanton was expected, it does place the Cardinals in a tough spot against the Panthers. Ryan Lindley will again start for the Cardinals with rookie Logan Thomas backing him up.
Lindley has started the last two games for the Cardinals producing losses which dropped the team from the No. 1 seed in the NFC to having to play a road game in Wild Card weekend. Lindley has completed 48.4 percent of his passes this year for 562 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions in two and a half games worth of action.
Stanton may be ready for next weekend but it is quite possible the Cardinals do not make it that far.
