Tyler Thigpen spent the summer in camp with the Browns but was released in mid-August. Now the 30-year-old is back with the club who is short on quarterbacks heading into Sunday’s season finale against the Ravens.

Thigpen was arrested for DUI after falling asleep at a Wendy’s in late November but resurfaces here for the Browns who are expected to start undrafted Connor Shaw with both Johnny Maniel (out, hamstring) and Brian Hoyer (questionable, biceps and shoulder) coming down with injuries in last weeks loss.

The Browns first tried to sign Rex Grossman, who may have been in line to start, but he opted to stay home for the holidays.

Thigpen appeared in parts of 29 games as an NFL quarterback seeing a career high 11 starts with the Chiefs in 2008 in which he threw for 2608 yards, 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. For his career he threw for 3222 yards, 21 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
