Those looking for fantasy running options may want to keep an eye on Chris Ivory of the New York Jets.
While Chris Johnson may was added over the offseason that does not mean that he will be the one toting the football across the goal line. In fact it appears that Chris Ivory is the favorite thus far.
“If we were playing tomorrow, Chris Ivory would be on the goal line, obviously,” running backs coach Anthony Lynn said on Monday via the New York Daily News. “Sometimes in those situations you have an extra defender that you can’t block, and you need a back that can take him on.”
The 222-pound Ivory is the best power back on the Jets roster ranking third in the NFL in yards after contact last season.
Last season Ivory racked up 833 yards on 182 attempts (4.6 avg) while recording three touchdowns. In his career he has 11 touchdowns on the gorund and a 4.9 average.
