Police in Miami have yet to speak with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick about a “suspicious incident” report that was filed last week.

“There’s nothing new right now that we have to report,” a Miami police spokesperson said on Friday, via CSNBayArea.com. “Everything is status quo as of yesterday.”

Kaepernick went on twitter to defend himself posting the following message:

“The charges made in the TMZ story and other stories I’ve seen are completely wrong. They make things up about me that never happened.

“I take great pride in who I am and what I do, but I guess sometimes you have to deal with someone who makes things up.

“I want to thank all of the people who have shared their encouraging sentiments. I assure you that your faith is not misplaced.”

Kaepernick along with 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette were named in a report from a woman who awoke in a hospital and was unaware of how she got there.

The woman alleged she previously had a sexual relationship with Kaepernick but that the two did not have sex on April 1.

She told the detectives she mixed some drinks for the three men. The men told her in order to drink the shots, she had to “hit” the bong, which contained marijuana, she said, according to the report. Afterward, she told police, she felt light-headed and went to the bedroom. Later the woman was found in the hospital.

Police in Miami say the previous report of a sexual assault were taken out of context by TMZ saying that no evidence of a crime or sexual assault have been indicated.
