At one point it seemed the chances of Julian Edelman returning to the New England Patriots for the 2014 season were slim.
That is no longer the case as there is a “strong push” among the Patriots coaching staff to see Edelman return. Michael Girardi reports that the wide receivers “work ethic and production as a dual threat,” make him someone the team wants to keep.
MALLETT: Texans not likely to trade for back-up QB
According to team source, there’s strong push in bldg to keep Edelman. Coaches love his work ethic & production as dual threat #patriotstalk

Some believe that Danny Amendola could be cut as a way to keep Edelman around but that would seem to go against the Patriots philosophy of selling low on a player. It is possible that the Patriots keep both Edelman and Amendola.
Edelman set career highs with 105 catches, 1,056 yards and six touchdowns lasts season.
