The Indianapolis Colts have been trying to lock up cornerback Vontae Davis but thus far contract talks have not gone well/.

The Indianapolis Star reports that the two sides are “relatively far apart in negotiations.”

Talks between the Colts and Davis are ongoing but the feeling is the Colts may not be able to lock up Davis before other teams are allowed to speak to him on Saturday.

Davis, 25, has been viewed as the top priority for the Colts this offseason given his skill set and recent play.

While the Colts have not been able to get a deal done for Davis, they have signed D’Qwell Jackson and re-signed punter Pat McAfee.

The Colts are also trying to work out deals for kicker Adam Vinatieri and safety Antoine Bethea.
