Wade Phillips pokes fun at Cowboys, says it was misunderstood

Wade Phillips is does not tweet all the time, but when he does hilarity ensues.

On Thursday Phillips sent out a tweet that mentioned that Jason Garrett and Wade Phillips had both coached 56 games for the Dallas Cowboys. Of course Phillips was 34-22 during his time, while Garrett is just 29-27.

Of course Phillips said that the tweet was not what it appeared to be.

“My surprise was that Jason and I had coached the same number of games. Not the record – time passes quickly -I wish Jason & Cowboys well” tweeted Phillips three hours later.

He later responded to why he even mentioned the record, saying he simply was retweeting something he thought was interesting.

Phillips was fired by the Cowboys 56 games ago, in favor of Garrett, as the teams defense began its drastic fall to leagues worst.
