The Cleveland Browns have the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. While many expect the Browns to draft a quarterback, new head coach Mike Pettine spoke positively about Brian Hoyer.

Asked about the Browns quarterback situation by the Boston Globe, Pettine spoke about one player on their roster.

“Brian Hoyer,” said Pettine. “We’re looking forward to getting him back to where at least he’ll do some limited work in the spring. I’ve always admired Brian from afar. He’s proven he can be successful in the NFL, but at the same time, you’re always looking to make the team better and that’s the most important position.”

Hoyer could start the season as the Browns starter but considering where the Browns draft, and the likelihood that Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater will be available, expect the Browns to select one.

It’s safe to say that the page has been turned on Brandon Weeden after two lackluster seasons.
