The Dallas Cowboys will not tender running back Phillip Tanner a contract for the 2014 season. Tanner will become a unrestricted free agent according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.
Tanner, 25, was the Cowboys only restricted free agent. A deal for Tanner would have cot the Cowboys at least $1.389 million.
A key member of the Cowboys special teams, Tanner had 56 carries for 149 yards in three seasons. He also had caught nine passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
