Matt Schaub expected to be on short leash

While Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak left Matt Schaub as his quarterback he did admit it was a tough choice.

With backup T.J. Yates being a relative unknown, the Texans are opting to go with Schaub as the Week 6 starter. Coming off three consecutive losses the Texans are hoping to get Schaub pointed in the right direction this week.

Should he struggle against a Rams team poised to give up a bunch of yards and points, there should be little hesitation to turn to Yates.

Thus far this season Schaub has completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 1.366 yards and has eight touchdowns and nine interceptions. Schaub has had an interception returned for a touchdown in each of the Texans last four games.
