First Rain Delay of NASCAR season happens during Clash

The first race of 2019 also brought out the first red flag for rain.

Sunday’s running of the Advance Auto Parts Clash at Daytona saw the field red flagged after just nine of 75 laps complete.

Paul Menard began the race on the pole and has led all but the first lap of the race.

Unlike the regular season, teams are allowed to work on racecars during the red flag in this non-points paying race.

The race resumed after 21 minutes and 30 seconds.

Rain again hit the track forcing a red flag at lap 43. Paul Menard was leading.
