On the way to Texas Motor Speedway the hauler carrying the car to be driven by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Michael Annett caught fire.

The vehicle caught fire on Interstate 20. Driver Michael Dennis Smith was said to be okay after he pulled over once he saw smoke. At that time Smith and his passenger unhooked the trailer from the cab.

Additional cars are to be sent via a different hauler by HScott Motorsports with the expectation that Annett will be able to run in Friday’s practice session.
