Austin Dillon hits catch fence as big one takes place at end of Daytona race

Austin Dillon collided with the catch fence at Daytona International Speedway at the conclusion of the Coke Zero 400 early Monday morning.

Dillon’s car was sent airborne and into the fence as Dale Earnhardt Jr. crossed the start finish line. Crew members ran to the sight of Dillon’s car and was able to pull him out. Dillon was able to walk away under his own power acknowledging fans to a loud cheer.

Debris was able to get though the catch fence with three fans requiring medical attention following the face. Those injuries were said to be minor.
