Kurt Busch won the Quicken Loans 400 from Michigan International Speedway on Sunday after rain shorted the event.
Kasey Kahne began the race on the pole while Carl Edwards shot to the lead on lap two. Green flag racing did not last long as two different red flags took place prior to a scheduled competition caution while another followed shortly after.
Rain proved to be a problem all day in Brookyln with multiple red flags and cautions. On lap 133 Kurt Busch took the lead from Kyle Larson who had been hoping to score a win by staying out on old tires and no gas with rain showers approaching. Larson’s chance came up just short as rain came down moments after he pitted giving Busch the win after 138 of 200 scheduled laps.
The win is the second of the season for Busch and the 27th of his career.
