Jimmie Johnson delivers Gatorade to high school football players

Prior to running last Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol, six-time champion Jimmie Johnson visited Independence High School in Charlotte.

Johnson, along with his Hendrick racing crew, brought Gatorade and some hydration safety talk to the school’s football team. Johnson also took some time to warm up and run a few drills.

Two days later Independence defeated South Mecklenburg 49-0 in their season opener. Independence High won seven straight state football championships from 2000 to 2006.
