Marcos Ambrose and Aric Almirola both finished in the top-ten at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday afternoon, after a long week for the team mourning the loss of team owner Richard Petty’s wife, Lynda.

Ambrose finished tenth (his second top-5 in the last three races), while Almirola finished eighth (his second top-10 in the last three races).

Several teams sported a decal on their cars during the STP 500 honoring the passing of Petty.

“We’ve had a really tough week.” Ambrose said.

” We lost Miss Lynda. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Petty family right now. We really wanted to win for them bad out there, but we’ll take a Top-5. We’re really proud of our efforts.”

The next Sprint Cup race takes place at Texas on April 6. Almirola’s best finish at Texas is seventh, which occurred at the Spring race last season. Ambrose finished 19th and 21st at the track last season.
