Germain Racing will switch to Chevrolet engines for the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. On Tuesday the team notified Roush Yates Engines CEO Doug Yates of its decision.

“We value Germain Racing as a customer, and we hate to see them leave,” Yates said via Fox Sports. “We wish them well.”

Germain Racing has been using Ford engines for the past two seasons. They previously have run Toyota engines while winning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championships with Todd Bodine in 2006 and 2010.

Casey Mears has been driving the No. 13 car for Germain Racing with sponsorship from GEICO dating back to 2010. There is no information as to whether Mears will remain with the team.
