Brad Keselowski found himself clinging to ninth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings entering the race weekend at Kentucky Speedway.

Last season Keselowski won at Kentucky but things were dramatically different on Sunday. After qualifying eighth for the Quaker State 400 the 2012 series champion found himself in trouble on lap 48 when Kurt Busch made contact with Keselowski’s rear bumper.

The result of Busch’s contact was a race altering crash that also damaged chase hopefuls Greg Biffle and Paul Menard.

Keselowski was one point inside the top ten prior to Sunday, he now finds himself 14 points out in 13th position.

If Keselowski were to miss the Chase this season he would be the first time the previous year champion missed the Chase since Tony Stewart in 2006.
