Photos: Dale Earnhardt Jr. to feature Man of Steel/Superman paint scheme at Michigan

Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet SS for Hendrick Motorsports will feature ‘Man of Steel’ a Superman paint scheme on his car this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. The movie is set to release on the big screen Friday, June 14.

The premise of the movie is as follows:

Clark Kent is a humanoid alien who after being transported to Earth from the dying planet of Krypton, was adopted as a child by Jonathan and Martha Kent. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super powers and struggles to find his own place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero named Superman to protect Earth and its people.

Earnhardt Jr. is known to feature a special scheme at Michigan, last years car featured The Dark Knight Rises, from the Batman trilogy. It was that race that Earnhardt Jr. won for the first time in four years, snapping a 143 race win less streak. His last win prior to last years also came at Michigan, in 2008.

Earnhardt Jr. goes into Michigan fourth in the point standings. He has a 14.8 average finish at the 2 mile oval track, with 2 wins, 6 top-five, and 10 top-ten finishes in his career.
