Either Bud Selig is wrong or everyone got 13 years younger. On Thursday night the MLB commissioner repeatable referred to the 2013 first year player draft as the “2000 first year player draft.”
Selig announced Mark Appel as the first selection of the 2000 first year player draft. He would go on to refer to the No. 6 and No. 8 and No. 19th selections as happening in 2000 as well.
Just for the record Adrian Gonzalez was selected as the first overall pick in the real 2000 MLB Draft.
