The St. Louis Cardinals have called up left hander Kevin Siegrist from Triple-A. Siegrist will provide depth for a tired Cardinals bullpen.
At Triple-A Memphis the 23-year-old Siegrist compiled a 1.95 ERA and a 44/10 K/BB ratio in 27 23 innings of work.
In order to make room for Siegrist the Cardinals optioned Maikel Cleto down. Cleto allowed five runs in 2 1/3 innings of work on Wednesday.
