Francisco Liriano tossed seven shutout innings and the Pittsburgh Pirates went on to beat the Chicago Cubs 2-0 on Friday.
Liriano allowed just two hits while walking a season high five batters in the day contest at Wrigley. He also recorded eight strikeouts. On the year Liriano has a 1.47 ERA and 47 strikeouts though 36 innings of work.
