On Tuesday the Detroit Tigers added pitcher Shawn Hill via a minor league deal. The 33-year-old right hander has been assigned to Triple-A Toledo.
Released by the Chicago White Sox over the weekend, Hill had a 4.81 ERA and 27/9 K/BB ratio over 58 innings at the Triple-A level.
Hill made one appearance with Toronto in 2012 pitching three innings and picking up a win in relief.
The Tigers should only be using Hill as organization depth. He spent last season with Toledo going 4-14 with a 5.51 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP in 26 starts.
