Blue Jays: Neil Wagner to visit Dr. James Andrews

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Neil Wagner will visit Dr. James Andrews next week.

Out since mid-June with a strained forearm, Wagner threw just three pitches in a minor league rehab start with the GCL Blue Jays last Thursday before leaving with elbow pain.

The Blue Jays are concerned that the 30-year-old Wagner may have ligament damage which could lead to Tommy John surgery.

Over the past two season Wagner has appeared in 46 games posting a 4.69 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. His addition to the roster in September can probably be ruled out.
