The Minnesota Twins have signed free agent pitcher Phil Hughes to a three-year deal.

Hughes, 27, becomes the second free agent pitcher that the Twins have added this offseason joining Ricky Nolasco. Said to be seeking a three-year deal that is exactly what Hughes got in his new deal with the Twins.

Last season Hughes was 4-14 with a 5.19 ERA but the Twins focused on the success that the right hander had from 2009-2012 when he was 47-29 with a 4.24 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.

Moving from Yankee Stadium to Target Field should help Hughes numbers a bit. He’s a prime candidate for a bounce back season. The deal between Hughes and the Twins is for three-years and $24 million.
