Free agent pitcher Phil Hughes is seeking a contract in excess of two years.
Hughes, 27, hit free agency this winter. While there have been reports of teams such as the Minnesota Twins attempting to sign the pitcher to a two-year deal the pitcher is holding out for a longer contract.
Hughes had a down 2013 season appearing in 30 games and posting a 4-14 record to go with a 5.19 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP.
Source close to Hughes laughs at the notion of any 2-year deal. In other words, not buying the @MLBCountry report of #MNTwins close to one.

Teams interested in Hughes will look past his 2013 season and focus on some of the success he had from 2009-2012 when he was 47-29 with a 4.24 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.
