Jake Peavy seems destined to be traded prior to Wednesday’s trade deadline. While Atlanta, St. Louis, Boston and others have all been mentioned as landing locations for the right hander the Oakland Athletics are now seen as the favorites to land him.
Multiple sources have speculated that the Athletics are close to acquiring Peavy from the Chicago White Sox.
While the A’s are seen as the favorites to acquire Peavy at the moment no one has provided any information as to who could be heading back to Chicago as part of the return.
Peavy is making $14.5 million this season and next. He also holds a player option for 2015.
Last Thursday Peavy picked up a win against Detroit. He would next be scheduled to start on Tuesday. This season Peavy has made 13 starts and has a 4.28 ERA anda 1.14 WHIP.
