The Los Angeles Angels have signed catcher Chris Iannetta to a new contract. Ianetta and the team had a mutual option on a $5 million deal for 2013 but have agreed on a three year deal.
Financial terms of the deal are not known at this time.
Iannetta played in 79 games but spent a large part of the season on the DL with a fractured right wrist. When he was able to play Ianetta hit .240/.332/.398 with nine home runs.
The Angels acquired Iannetta from Colorado last November. He caught Jered Weaver’s no hitter in May.
